Sacred Illness® Practitioner Training
Participant Agreement
In order to enroll in the Sacred Illness® Practitioner Training (the “Course”), you must agree to the terms of this Participant Agreement (the “Agreement”). This Agreement is between you, the participant, and Aurora Somatic Medicine, LLC (“Aurora Somatic Medicine,” “we,” “our,” or “us”). If you do not want to agree to the terms of this Agreement, do not enroll in the Course.
Eligibility Requirements.
Only individuals meeting the criteria below will be permitted to join the Course. The Course is not designed for the general public.
To qualify as a student, applicants must meet the following criteria:
Applicants must have a certificate, be certified in, or be licensed in a healing arts profession. Some examples of such professionals include, but are not limited to: mental health practitioners, coaches, physical therapists, yoga teachers, massage therapists, spiritual health practitioners, cultural health practitioners, nurses, doctors, etc.
Applicants must have professional oversight for their profession, such as a governing ethical board.
Applicants must have an existing or developing clientele base to work with throughout the entirety of the training program. Having an active practice is required upon applying.
Applicants must be in good standing ethically in their professional field and must not have any open grievance, complaint, or action brought against them before any licensing, regulating, associative, or legal body for any violation or misconduct.
If an applicant does not meet the first three (3) requirements but is enrolled in a program that will provide them with licensure or certification within one year from beginning the Course and will provide them with a clientele base to work with through practicum, exceptions may be made.
Other exceptions are made on a case-by-case basis.
Proof of qualification must be provided prior to enrollment.
The Course.
The Course is 6-month Course and includes the following:
Three (3) online weekend-long trainings throughout the six (6) month period, plus one (1) optional 4th training for those practitioners with an interest in developing their practice fully around the Sacred Illness® Modality (additional fee for the optional 4th in-person training as noted below)
The 3 trainings will be recorded for those who can’t attend live
Handouts and Training Material
Access to the Sacred Illness® Practitioner Training Community Forum (available only to registered participants and Course alumni)
Participants will receive a certificate of completion and, if desired, be listed on the Aurora Somatic Medicine website as certified in the Sacred Illness® Somatic Experiencing approach after:
Completing the Course; and
Successfully submitting all required elements; and
Certifying they have completed all required practice hours.
This Course is not approved for continuing education credits or licensure/certification by any licensing or governing body.
Your enrollment or completion of the Course does not in any way authorize you to practice any licensed healthcare profession. The certificate of completion does not confer a degree and is unaccredited, although it may be used at the discretion of the individual practitioner to promote their practice. Aurora Somatic Medicine makes no claims or warranties regarding the legality of any practitioner utilizing the methods taught in the Course in any state or country. Some participants may not be able to utilize the methods taught in the Course because it may not be within their scope in their jurisdiction(s). Participants are solely responsible for knowing their scope of practice and staying within it as well as maintaining all applicable code of ethics. Additionally, Participants are recommended to make clear to patients/clients that the Sacred Illness® methodology is not a form of psychiatry, psychology, therapy or replacement for such.
The Course will often reference “patient(s)”, but participants should not misconstrue this to mean they have “patients” if their licensure only provides for a client-practitioner relationship.
Payment Policies.
You have two payment options to purchase access to the Course.
Option 1: Pay in full upfront: Total cost $3,300*
Option 2: Pay a deposit and then in five (5) installment payments of $490 each (Total cost $3.450).* The deposit is due one month prior to the beginning of the Course, the first installment payment is due on the first day of the month in which the Course begins, and the remaining four (4) installment payments are due in full on the first of the next four consecutive months. These will be charged to your credit card on file.
*These prices do not include the optional 4th training which is an additional cost of $795 and must be paid in full before the training).
Once you enroll, you must make all payments and your credit card on file will be charged accordingly. There are no opt-outs, early terminations or refunds.
By purchasing the Course, you agree that Aurora Somatic Medicine is authorized to share any payment information required to complete the payment transactions with any third-party payment service providers (e.g., credit card transaction processing, merchant settlement, and related services) such as Stripe, Square, and others, and you give Aurora Somatic Medicine permission to automatically charge your credit card for all charges due as payment for the Course without any additional authorization or notification.
If your credit card is declined and you fail to provide a valid card within two (2) business days of email notification, you will lose access to the Course until payment is made, but you will still remain fully responsible for the full cost of the Course and all remaining payments if you are paying in a payment plan. We reserve our right to seek payment from you for any delinquent payment that is not provided by or upon the date due by enlisting the help of a collections’ agency, and we may exercise our right to report your delinquent payment to all three credit reporting agencies, either directly or through the help of a collections’ agency.
No Refund Policy.
Due to the depth and detail of the Course material, there are no early terminations or refunds and no exceptions. Once you enroll, you are responsible for payment in full for the Course.
Since there is a clear and explicit No Refund Policy in this Agreement that you agree to prior to enrolling in the Course, Aurora Somatic Medicine does not tolerate or accept any type of chargeback threat or actual chargeback from your credit card company or the payment processor. If a chargeback is placed on a purchase or Aurora Somatic Medicine receives a chargeback threat during or after your purchase, we reserve the right to report the incident to all three credit reporting agencies or to any other entity for inclusion in any chargeback database or for listing as a delinquent account which could have a negative impact on your credit report score. The information reported will include your name, e-mail address, order date, order amount, and billing address. If you then wish to have this report removed from your credit report, you must make the payment owed for the amount of the chargeback. Once payment owed is received, the appropriate reports to the credit agencies will be made.
Information and Education Only; No Medical Advice
This Course is for informational and educational purposes only and is not to be perceived as or relied upon in any way as medical advice for any individual. The Course is intended as educational material for healthcare professionals who must use their own professional judgement with their patients and/or clients.
Practitioners are solely responsible for evaluation, interpretation, implementation, and application of any information presented in the Course using their own expertise and medical or other professional judgment in the context of the individual patient/client. The use of any information presented is solely at the practitioner's own risk. In no case are Aurora Somatic Medicine or its owner Dr. Erin Hayford, ND responsible or liable for any practitioner's use or misuse of the information presented.
Information and statements in the Course are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease.
No Guarantees of Results or Earnings
No results of participation in the Course or use of the information in the Course are guaranteed. Aurora Somatic Medicine makes no guarantees, express or implied, about the results of use of any information shared in the Course or the results of participating in the Course. Dr. Erin Hayford, ND is sharing general information and education and is not providing medical advice for any individual.
You also recognize that prior results do not guarantee a similar outcome. Thus, the results obtained by others, whether patients/clients of Aurora Somatic Medicine, participants of the Course, or otherwise, are no guarantee that you or your patients/clients will obtain similar results.
Additionally, your participation in the Course does not guarantee any success with your practice, business, earnings, or otherwise. There are no guarantees you will obtain patients/clients from being listed on the Aurora Somatic Medicine website and there are no guarantees that your participation in the Course will increase your earnings or practice revenue.
Intellectual Property Rights.
Ownership of Course Content and Aurora Somatic Medicine’s Limited License to You
The Course, including without limitation, the words, design, layout, look, appearance, graphics, photos, images, information, materials, documents, data, videos and video files and recordings, voice/audio files and recordings including downloadable Mp3 audio files, webinars and recorded webinars, emails, downloadable PDFs, worksheets, workbooks, forms, guides, questionnaires, e- handouts and slides, and all other similar materials and all other information and intellectual property accessible on or through the Course as well as the look and feel of all of the foregoing (collectively, the “Course Content”) are the property of and solely owned by Aurora Somatic Medicine or our affiliates, licensors, successors-in-interest, assignees, or suppliers unless otherwise noted, and are protected by copyright, trademark and other laws that protect intellectual property and proprietary rights.
You agree to observe and abide by all copyright and other proprietary notices, legends or other restrictions contained on or in the Course Content as well as this Agreement.
When you enroll in the Course or view or access any Course Content, Aurora Somatic Medicine is granting you a limited, revocable, non-transferable, non-exclusive license to access and use the Course and Course Content for your own personal, non-commercial use ONLY.
You are NOT permitted to share any Course Content with your friends, family, colleagues, or any other person. If they would like access to the Course, they must purchase their own license to the Course separately.
This means that when you enroll in the Course, you may watch, listen to, download and/or print Course Content for your own personal use, BUT you are NOT permitted to copy, duplicate, reprint, republish, reproduce, share, sell/re-sell, display, disclose, or redistribute any part of the Course or Course Content with or to friends, family members, colleagues, or any other third party, or on any public site or forum, or use any Course Content for commercial purposes or as your own. For avoidance of doubt, this means you may NOT adapt or represent any part of the Course in any way as if it is yours or created by you and you may not reprint or republish any part of the Course and Course Content for publication or compilation into your own products.
Furthermore, you may not hypertext, frame or inline link to any part of the Course or Course Content, nor may you state or imply any sponsorship, endorsement by, or ownership of the Course or Course Content without the express written permission of Dr. Erin Hayford.
Any trademarks and logos displayed on the Courses and Course Content, including the Sacred Illness® registered trademark, are trademarks belonging to Aurora Somatic Medicine and Dr. Erin Hayford unless otherwise indicated. Any use including framing, metatags or other text utilizing these trademarks, or other trademarks displayed, is strictly prohibited without the express written permission of Dr. Erin Hayford.
All rights not expressly granted in this Agreement or any express written license, are reserved by Aurora Somatic Medicine.
Unauthorized Use and Infringement of Course Content
You understand and agree that your use of the Course Content other than as expressly authorized in this Agreement is not permitted and is considered unauthorized use, infringement and theft (“Unauthorized Use and Infringement”) and may give rise to a civil claim for damages and/or be a criminal offense, and Aurora Somatic Medicine reserves the right to prosecute for theft and to enforce our rights to the full extent of the law.
In the event of your Unauthorized Use and Infringement, you agree to pay liquidated damages of five (5) times the total fees owed for the Course, in addition to any legal or equitable remedies Aurora Somatic Medicine may be entitled to pursue. This is not a penalty but an agreed upon liquidated damages charge for Unauthorized Use and Infringement.
You agree that any violation or threatened violation of by you of the Intellectual Property Rights terms in this Agreement would cause irreparable injury to Aurora Somatic Medicine that may not be adequately compensated by damages, entitling Aurora Somatic Medicine to obtain injunctive relief, without bond, in addition to all legal remedies.
Community Forum Guidelines
The Course includes access to the Sacred Illness® Community Forum, both a general forum and one specific for Practitioners, which available only to registered participants and Course alumni. The private Community Forum is designed to allow participants to share ideas and experiences. Please note that Aurora Somatic Medicine and Dr. Erin Hayford DO NOT monitor the Community Forum page, or any posts, comments, or material submitted by participants. The views and comments of any participants on the Community Forum page do not necessarily reflect those of Aurora Somatic Medicine and Dr. Erin Hayford and may not be accurate or correct.
Aurora Somatic Medicine is not responsible for and specifically disclaims any and all liability arising from or relating to your use of any information posted on the Community Forum page by other participants. Aurora Somatic Medicine also reserves the right to delete any comments in the Community Forum that are inappropriate, inaccurate, or disrespectful in our sole discretion.
Any personal information you voluntarily share as part of your participation in the Community Forum is done at your own risk. Please also be mindful of sharing other’s personal health information as this is a public forum. Personally identifying health information of patients/clients should not be shared in a public forum. Aurora Somatic Medicine is not responsible for any disclosure of private health information by any participants or unauthorized use by others of information that you voluntarily share or post on the Community Forum page.
Participant Conduct: We strive to create a safe space for all participants. All comments must be respectful. You may not communicate or submit any content or material that is harassing in nature, rude, racist, abusive, vulgar, threatening, knowingly false, defamatory, or obscene or otherwise in violation of any law or the rights of others. Bullying or other similar comments will not be tolerated. You are not permitted to use the Community Forum to solicit business from or collect data from other group members (including their names and contact information). You may not copy, screenshot, or share posts from participants on the Community Forum page with anyone or on any other site at any time.
Aurora Somatic Medicine reserves the right in our sole discretion to permanently remove you from the Community Forum if you fail to follow the Community Forum guidelines.
No Warranties
AURORA SOMATIC MEDICINE MAKES NO WARRANTIES REGARDING THE COURSE OR CONTENT. FURTHERMORE, AURORA SOMATIC MEDICINE MAKES NO WARRANTIES THAT THE COURSE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED OR ERROR-FREE.
AURORA SOMATIC MEDICINE MAKES NO REPRESENTATIONS OR WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, ABOUT THE ACCURACY, COMPLETENESS, RELIABILITY, AVAILABILITY, TIMELINESS, SUITABILITY AND APPROPRIATENESS FOR ANY PURPOSE OF THE INFORMATION. ALL INFORMATION PROVIDED THROUGH THE COURSE AND COURSE CONTENT ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” AND WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMISSIBLE UNDER APPLICABLE LAW, AURORA SOMATIC MEDICINE DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY AND FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE AND NON-INFRINGEMENT WITH RESPECT TO ALL INFORMATION IN THE COURSE AND COURSE CONTENT.
AURORA SOMATIC MEDICINE FURTHER MAKES NO REPRESENTATIONS OR WARRANTIES REGARDING THE USE OR THE RESULTS OF THE USE OF THE COURSE AND COURSE CONTENT.
Limitation of Liability and Release of Claims
As previously stated, participants are solely responsible for evaluation, interpretation, implementation, and application of any information presented in the Course using their own expertise and medical or other professional judgment in the context of the individual patient/client.
While Dr. Erin Hayford will be discussing her experiences with her clients, you should not rely solely on information presented in the Course when treating your patients/clients and should always properly evaluate a patient/client for what is appropriate for them.
The use of any information presented is solely at the practitioner's own risk. In no case are Aurora Somatic Medicine or its owner Dr. Erin Hayford, ND responsible or liable for any practitioner's use or misuse of the information presented or any harm to any patient or claim made by any patient relating to any participant’s use of any information in the Course. Dr. Erin Hayford is not providing medical advice to your patients/clients.
YOU AGREE TO ABSOLVE AURORA SOMATIC MEDICINE AND ITS OWNER DR. ERIN HAYFORD, ND (THE “RELEASEES”) OF ANY AND ALL LIABILITY OR LOSS THAT YOU OR ANY PERSON ASSOCIATED WITH YOU MAY SUFFER OR INCUR AS A RESULT OF USE OF THE INFORMATION CONTAINED ON THE COURSE. YOU AGREE THAT THE RELEASEES SHALL NOT BE LIABLE TO YOU OR ANY THIRD PARTY FOR ANY TYPE OF DAMAGES, INCLUDING DIRECT, INDIRECT, SPECIAL, INCIDENTAL, EQUITABLE, OR CONSEQUENTIAL LOSS OR DAMAGES IN ANY WAY RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE COURSE.
Username and Password to Access Course.
To access the Course materials, you will be provided a username and password. You agree to keep your username and password to access the Course confidential. You are not permitted to share your username and/or password or access to your Course account with anyone at any time.
Links and References to Third-Party Websites, Services and Products
The Course may provide links and/or references to third-party websites, services, and products (collectively, “Third-Party Products”). Aurora Somatic Medicine may be sponsored by the Third-Party Products and may receive a commission if you make a purchase through an affiliate link provided for the Third-Party Product. However, the Third-Party Sites are not under the control of Aurora Somatic Medicine, and Aurora Somatic Medicine is not responsible or liable for any content on or actions of any Third-Party Products. Aurora Somatic Medicine is not responsible for the actions, views, opinions, facts, advice, or statements of Third-Party Products, their accuracy or reliability, or for errors or omissions caused by Third-Party Products or for any loss, damage, or otherwise that may arise from your use of them. It is your responsibility to perform your own due diligence before buying or using any Third-Party Products.
Governing Law and Dispute Resolution
This Agreement is governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Arizona where Aurora Somatic Medicine is registered, regardless of the conflict of laws principles.
It is hoped that you will have no dispute with Aurora Somatic Medicine. However, should a dispute arise between you and Aurora Somatic Medicine, we would like to be able to work it out amicably through e-mail correspondence. Therefore, it is requested that you contact Dr. Erin Hayford via e-mail in attempt to resolve any dispute prior to seeking legal action and include your reasons for dissatisfaction.
However, should we be unable to resolve any potential dispute within a reasonable time, you agree now that the only method of legal dispute resolution that will be used is binding arbitration before a single arbitrator, selected jointly, in accordance with the American Arbitration Association Rules. You understand and agree now that the only remedy that can be awarded to you through arbitration is refund of your payment made to purchase the Course as of the date of such dispute. No other actions or financial awards of consequential damages, or any other type of damages, may be granted to you. We both agree now that the decision of the arbitrator is final and binding and may be entered as a judgment into any court having the appropriate jurisdiction. You also agree that should arbitration take place, it will be held in Maricopa County in the State of Arizona, and the prevailing party shall be entitled to all reasonable attorneys’ fees and all costs necessary to enforce the decision of the arbitrator.
By purchasing the Course, you are agreeing to a modification of the statute of limitations such that any arbitration must be begun within one (1) year of the date of your e-mail to Aurora Somatic Medicine referenced above or you waive the right to seek dispute resolution by arbitration or to take any other legal action related to the Course or this Agreement.
Users Outside of the United States
Aurora Somatic Medicine provides the Course from offices in the United States. Aurora Somatic Medicine does not represent that the materials are appropriate or available for use in other locations. People who choose to access the Course from other countries do so on their own initiative and are responsible for compliance with local laws as applicable.
Termination of Course Access
Aurora Somatic Medicine reserves the right in our sole discretion to refuse or terminate your access to the Course, in full or in part, including your access to the Community Forum, at any time if you breach the terms of this Agreement. In such case, you will still owe the full amount for the Course.
Your application and subsequent enrollment into the Course acknowledges that you have read, understand, and agree to all terms of this Participant Agreement for the Sacred Illness® Practitioner Training Course.
